Origami Corner Lamp

A DIY (Do It Yourself) Corner lamp made in one of my college projects with paper by using the technique of paper folding usually known as Origami.

Origami is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture.
In modern usage, the word "origami" is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices,
regardless of their culture of origin.
The goal in this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture
through folding and sculpting techniques.

The inspiration for it to be in the corner was taken from my room, as it does not recieve any proper light and stays dark most of the time. So, decided to use the ancient technique of Paper Origami and by using LED lights to make my design work.

I started making many iterations for the design by experimenting many different kinds of folds and then choosing a suitable one for the product.

Attaching a strip of golden LED lights to give the surrounding a dim effect.

This paper folding technique helped me visualise the 3D space using simple Japanese craft with one piece of paper as my medium. It is always interesting to work with paper and lights simultaneously and see how they interact with each other.
